The primary role of the Research Associate will be to develop an active empirical research program supporting OEFR’s core mission and implementation projects. The Research Associate will be expected to develop novel research projects publishable in policy, popular, and academic outputs and respond to requests to develop applied research projects supporting OEF’s work in maritime security, economic development and conflict, or other areas. The specific research program should fit with and be in support of OEF’s core mission of developing better systems of governance that support peaceful conflict resolution and development. Specific expertise of interest to OEF includes the role of non-state actors in governance, empirical predictors of peace and conflict, the structure and function of transnational governance systems, and the role of business in supporting peace. The Research Associate will be expected to work with other R&D and implementation program staff to develop and conduct research, and to aggressively promote his or her work to the media and policy audiences.
