With a background and expertise in marine conservation, Robert leads Secure Fisheries efforts to promote sustainable fishing. He has a wide range of experience working across both national and international governments as well as with private entities to bridge the gaps between science, policy, and competing public and private interests. He also has over 20 years’ experience in science communications and outreach where he focused on achieving continued sustainability for marine resources. Prior to joining Secure Fisheries, Robert was the manager for the Pew Charitable Trust’s Global Ocean Legacy (GOL) project where he helped create oceanic-scale marine reserves across the globe. He also advised the Resources Law Group and the state of California in the implementation of one of the largest marine protected area networks in the world. He additionally helped the Monterey Bay Aquarium design and launch its renowned Seafood Watch Program.
