Alexandra Amling is a Researcher on Women, Peace and Security at the One Earth Future Foundation (OEF), where she is in charge of developing and expanding research projects advancing the WPS agenda. She currently leads a research project on the reintegration of female ex-combatants in Colombia.
Prior to joining OEF, Ms. Amling has worked two years in Cambodia as a researcher and gender consultant for different organizations. She took part in a research project on Ending Violence against Women with The Asia Foundation as Program Officer. In that capacity, she supported data collection and analysis of prevalence data for the identification of risk and protective factors to inform program development on targeted prevention of violence against women. She has also supported a CARE International project on challenges of female construction workers in Cambodia. She produced a gender analysis for GIZ's ID Poor Program in Cambodia. In addition, she has conducted an assessment of gender-based violence among youth in East Indonesia for ChildFund International. Ms. Amling is an Affiliated Fellow of the Southeast Asia Network at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.
Alexandra Amling holds a graduate degree in Chinese and Southeast Asian Studies from Goethe University, Frankfurt and a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey, USA where she also obtained a Certificate in Conflict Resolution.
