Rural Alternative School (ERA) Coordinator
Cesar is the coordinator for the Rural Alternative Schools (Escuelas Rurales Alternativas, ERA) developed by PASO Colombia.
Cesar studied Economics at the Universidad del Valle and has a Technical Degree in Agricultural Production from SENA. He earned a master’s degree in Political Science and Economic Development from the Universidad de los Andes and holds the title of Specialist in International Business focusing on International Logistics from the Universidad Libre. He has vast experience managing agricultural and forestry projects both in the public and private sector as well as for NGOs. He is an expert in community organizing, idea generation, economic development, business logistics and development of productive projects.
César is an advocate of entrepreneurship, skilled in the structuring and strategic guidance of business ideas, projects and companies. He has the technical skills necessary to solve organizational conflicts and create value for new ventures by establishing interpersonal and inter-institutional connections. He is a promoter of networking between institutions, businesspeople and entrepreneurial farmers, with the purpose of reducing the gaps between supply and demand which separate environmentally friendly agricultural products from fair trade. He is also an initiator of strategies for the empowerment and inclusion of vulnerable sectors of society in revenue-creating and entrepreneurial-oriented activities which integrate them into a sustainable social and productive context.
