Fernando Cruz, Colombian Rural Alternative School Coordinator at One Earth Future

Rural Alternative School (ERA) Coordinator

As a coordinator of the Rural Alternative Schools (ERA) project developed by One Earth Future's PASO Colombia program, Fernando carries out approaches between communities and ex-combatants to establish and develop ERAs around the country. Thanks to his work in the field, he identifies key stakeholders and establishes partnerships to support projects in the ERA. Inside each ERA under his supervision, he coordinates agricultural and educational work dynamics, and offers solutions to the conflicts that may surge during activities or among the participants.

Fernando is an attorney from Santiago de Cali University with a specialization in Social Management from the Higher School of Public Administration (ESAP). He has 10 years of experience in agricultural and livestock technical training from the National Learning Service (SENA) as well as extensive experience working with cooperatives and rural communities in the Valle del Cauca department. In addition, he facilitated pedagogical workshops about the Final Agreement to End Armed Conflict and Build a Lasting Peace in Colombia with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Departmental Peace Secretariat.
