Laura leads Secure Fisheries’ monitoring and evaluation, manages the program’s forums and website content, and contributes to projects developing fisheries co-management in the Somali region. Laura also leads efforts to incorporate a gender perspective into Secure Fisheries’ programming. She developed the OEF Gender Working Group, an interdepartmental committee to incorporate gender perspectives throughout the organization and its programs. Laura also works with the Stable Seas program on program strategy and evaluation, gender-mainstreaming of Stable Seas research projects, and research on maritime security in Latin America and the Caribbean. Before working with Secure Fisheries, Laura spent a year in Austria working as an English Teaching Assistant for the Austrian American Educational Commission (Fulbright Commission). She graduated from Lewis & Clark College with a BA in International Affairs and German Studies. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with a certification from the Project Management Institute.
