Mario Espinosa Cobaleda

Community Engagement Officer

Mario has a broad experience in participatory development strategies, community engagement, intercultural dialogue and mediation of conflict. He has worked extensively with rural, indigenous, and afro communities in topics such as community organization, strengthening of identity, cultural autonomy and ethnic rights.

Mario is a professional in Social Projects Management with a certificate from the Pensar Institute of the Pontificial Xaverian University, he is also an expert in  Cartography certified by the  Interamerican Center CIAF. In addition, he has published several articles about indigenous communities’ justice system, ethno-development, history and culture, women’s oral history, afro-Colombian displacement and social integration in urban contexts, among others. He has worked as field officer, evaluator of social projects, community engagement officer and consultant for national institutions as the Social Net Solidarity RSS; Unidad de Victimas (UV); National Parks (UEPN); and international organizations as ACNUR, USAID, GTZ, SWISSAID, OPS, UPN, OPS, UEV.
