The National Federation of Coffee Growers is a new partner in Rural Alternative Schools

The Cauca Coffee Committee of the National Federation of Coffee Growers reached a partnership agreement with PASO Colombia and representatives of the ex-combatants from North Cauca, to support coffee production in Rural Alternative Schools.

November 20 - Popayán, Colombia - PASO Colombia’s Rural Alternative Schools (ERA for it’s Spanish acronym) in Cauca have a new partner. The Regional Committee of the National Federation of Coffee Growers reached an agreement with PASO and the leaders of the 3 Territorial Spaces of Capacitation and Reincorporation in where ex-combatants of the region live.

Through the Rural Alternative Schools, the Federation will be providing technical assistance to improve the quality of the coffee crops that ex-combatants already have. It will also support their expansion from 70.000 to 100.000 plants. A coffee processing plant will also be built for the region. 

The visits of the technical team of de Federation to the existing coffee crops will begin on December of this year.
