Research Associate Proposes African Cities Governance Award

A governance award for African cities can promote positive change in fragile and low-income states, says OEF Research's Victor Odundo Owuor on The Fragile States Resource Center.

African cities are endowed with a diversity of innovation and ideas, but can encounter the full gamut of challenges from transport, to energy, water, and sanitation. When cities are well-planned and managed appropriately, they can help address infrastructure deficits tied to fragile economies. OEF Research's Victor Odundo Owuor believes that showcasing how successful local governments in Africa are driving change can generate the motivation and inspiration to work towards the same or higher achievements.
