One Earth Future is creating jobs, strengthening community resilience, and developing the framework for more efficient and prosperous overall fisheries management along the Somali coast, the longest coastline on mainland Africa, all in an integrated underlying effort to foster sustainable peace and stability.
To share this important work helping the fisheries sector in the region to grow and prosper, a project is underway to produce a short documentary film capturing the impacts of OEF’s Secure Fisheries program team. One Earth Future Field Managers, working closely with a local film crew, have just wrapped up filming in Mogadishu and Bander Beyla. Interviews were conducted with community members and stakeholders to spotlight OEF’s fisheries co-management, cold chain infrastructure, and data collection initiatives in the region, as well as our efforts to support creation of marine protected areas.
Stay tuned for more details about the documentary’s release, which is targeted for later this year! But in the meantime, we’re excited to share a behind the scenes look at the film production in action below. Check out the great photos! Follow OEF’s social media platforms for more and keep an eye out for the documentary release in December!
