The co-management association includes representatives from the local TAWAKAL fisheries cooperative, the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development, the Mayor’s Office, and the Governor’s Office.
The co-management association will focus on sustainable development of the fisheries sector with the aim of supporting livelihoods, mitigating conflict, and increasing efforts to combat illegal fishing. Local resource users and the government will now have a forum to discuss and address challenges in the fisheries sector and collaboratively develop sustainable, equitable, and effective management measures.
