Founded in 1998, Five Star Trading Company (“FISTCO”) was established to provide a high-quality printing service to its customers. FISTCO began operations with one retail shop in Bosaso and has since expanded to operate eight retail shops in Bosaso, Garowe, Galkacyo, and Kismayo. As one of the leading retailers in digital printing and office supplies in Puntland, FISTCO specializes in custom printing and design services. In addition to printing, copying, and binding, the company also provides a selection of office supplies, books, and small electronics for retail and wholesale.
FISTCO was experiencing increasing demand for products that require wide-format printing, precise contour cutting, and garment printing. Through a Shuraako-facilitated investment, FISTCO was able to expand its business operations by purchasing a wide-format inkjet printer, contour cutter, and garment printer. By investing in new equipment, the company is now able to print custom posters, banners, advertisement boards, and stickers as well as print directly onto fabric. Furthermore, the investment has increased sales and foot traffic in its retail locations.
