Gobsoor Farm

Plants inside a greenhouse on the farm

Gobsoor Farm is an agribusiness farm located about 45km outside of Hargeisa in the farming area of Arabsiyo in Somaliland. The Farm cultivates a variety of cash crops such as tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, onions, chili, okra, sweet melon, coriander/cilantro, lettuce, and fruits such as papaya, lime, and guava.  Gobsoor Farm sells the produce to wholesale traders in Hargeisa.

With the investment from the Nordic Fund, the farm now has over 15 greenhouses which they use to plant tomatoes all year round. The farm also has two boreholes, drip irrigation, and a solar water pumping system to irrigate the farm.

For farming expertise, Gobsoor has a Kenyan greenhouse technician and agronomist who also trains the local staff.

Agriculture is foundational to economic growth, especially in regions like Somaliland where agriculture supports local food security and jobs.
