Founded in 2006, Royalsom General Trading LTD (“Royalsom”) is a travel agency company located in Mogadishu, Somalia. Since being founded, the company has built a reputable presence in the region by offering rental car and airline ticketing services. In recent years, the demand for both local and international travel to Somalia has contributed to the increased presence of international airline companies in Somalia, such as Ethiopian Airlines and Kenya Airways, which offer direct flights to Somalia.
The company has contracts with both NGOs and government agencies who trust and rely on their services, especially bulletproof vehicles. With growing demand for travel to Somalia, Royalsom aimed to expand its capacity to meet the increase in its customers. Through a Shuraako-facilitated investment, Royalsom was able to procure three 35- to 40-seater buses and two Toyota Land Cruisers, supporting expansion of the company’s existing car rental services.
