Shaybe Laundry Company

Founded in 2013, Shaybe Laundry “Shaybe” is a fast-growing company that provides full service laundry and dry cleaning services in Hargeisa, Somaliland.  With the laundry service industry in its infancy, Shaybe has achieved impressive growth indicated by the six additional outlet locations that serve as collection points, in addition to a company-owned processing center.  Shaybe’s success has garnered high demand for its services and demand continues to grow and outpace supply.

Shaybe participated in the Shuraako-facilitated Work in Progress! business training program and worked with expert consultants to develop a profitable expansion strategy. Using funding facilitated by Shuraako, Shaybe expanded its operations by increasing its services to include one-hour wash and wear, 24 hour dry cleaning, stain removal, alterations and mending, and dry cleaning for special care items.  The company brought on these additional services by procuring new cleaning and ironing machinery, a mobile app for online service and payment, and additional motorbikes for collection and delivery.
