U Soo Godol

U Soo Godol (“U Soo”), established in 2014, is a dairy production company which sells camel milk to the local markets in Garowe, Puntland. It is able to provide fresh milk to the market because of its proximity to the city and minimal time it takes between milking and delivery to customers. A Shuraako-brokered investment supported U Soo to double its number of milking camels and procure additional sheep and goats for its livestock fattening project, increasing its overall herd by 25 percent. The investment allowed U Soo to increase its revenue and better meet customer demand.

Following further success and growth, U Soo secured additional financing, to increase its camel milk production through the procurement of additional camels, and through the purchase of a six-hectare plot to grow additional fodder as well as provide additional grazing opportunities for its camels. U Soo anticipates increasing milk output per camel from four to five liters per day and to continue expanding its herd.
