Saddam Mohamed is the Somalia communications lead for One Earth Future. In this role, he develops and implements a communications strategy that has effectively contributed to project achievements and disseminated crucial information to local Somali communities and partners. This work includes engaging with stakeholders–including investors, donors, policymakers, and the Somali private sector–and leveraging a range of communication tools such as social media, video, and traditional media channels. He has a deep grasp of human rights, advocacy, and legal frameworks that informs his approach.
Prior to his time at OEF, Saddam was a Communication and Knowledge Management Manager at CARE International Somalia/Somaliland. Here, he played a fundamental role in producing field communication plans, generating top-notch content, and nurturing media relationships to amplify the organization's impact. Effectively communicating messages tailored to local contexts, especially in crisis situations, significantly heightened project visibility and effectiveness, particularly with USAID-funded projects.
Saddam earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, a bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), and a master’s degree in Global Studies and International Relations. He is interested in politics and world news and is proud that the professional goals that he set for himself have become reality.
