Roberto Chavarria

Director ILA

Roberto is the Deputy Director of OEF's Impact, Learning and Accountability (ILA) department. He leads internal strategic consulting projects aimed at developing validated and rigorous strategic planning for program implementation and growth opportunities. He works closely with the Vice-President, Strategy in developing frameworks that underly the Foundation’s current and future work, and collaborates on the evaluation of programs for impact.

Roberto is passionate about shared clarity of purpose and objectives, something he learned from his experience in entrepreneurship, prior to joining OEF. After pursuing his own startup venture, he served as Investment Project Manager for an angel investment firm in Costa Rica, where he helped develop an institutional tool for planning and measuring a startup’s progress from idea to successful business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Science, Technology and Society (STS) from Stanford University and an executive diploma in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Social Change from UN-Mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica.
