Elin Bergner

Research Assistant

Elin Bergner is a Research Assistant for Open Nuclear Network, a programme of One Earth Future. She works primarily on non-traditional security issues in North East Asia. Prior to working with ONN, she was a research intern at the Korea Center of the Institute for Security and Development Policy in Stockholm, Sweden.

Elin holds a bachelor's degree in Social Anthropology from Lund University in Sweden, which included exchange semesters at the University of Sussex in the UK, the University of Linnaeus in Spain, the University of Hawaii in the USA and Kyung Hee University in South Korea. She is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in International Political Science with a specialization in global Asian studies at Stockholm University in Sweden. Elin is a mentee of the VCDNP/IAI/EUNPDC Young Women in Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Mentorship Programme 2022-2023.

Elin's research interests include disaster risk reduction and food security in the DPRK, broader northeast Asian peace development and nuclear risk reduction. She speaks Swedish, Norwegian, English, Spanish and Korean.
